Local OCR

Visible text is read on the computer. Screenshots are processed in memory rather than saved by the app.

Warnings include a category, confidence, relevant line, application, timestamp, and screen coordinates.

Detected text can receive temporary colored highlighting to help the user find the risky line.

Install in minutes

Download, unzip, launch.

Choose your computer below. The ZIP includes the app, launchers, instructions, tests, and required project files.

  1. Download the complete ZIP using the button above.
  2. Double-click the ZIP to create the Scensor AI folder.
  3. Open the folder and double-click run_mac.command.
  4. Create a profile, then open Live Protection and select Start.
  5. Allow Terminal or Python in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen & System Audio Recording, then restart the app.
macOS security prompt: when macOS blocks the launcher, select Done, open Privacy & Security, then use Open Anyway only for the file you downloaded from this site.
  1. Download the complete ZIP and select Extract All.
  2. Open the extracted folder.
  3. Double-click run_windows.bat.
  4. Create a profile and configure the safety categories you want to monitor.
  5. Start Live Protection and approve any screen-capture permission requested by Windows.
Keep the extracted project folder together. Moving only the launcher will prevent it from finding the required app files.

Questions

Before you install.

Does Scensor AI upload screenshots?

The included build processes screenshots in memory and does not save them as part of its normal workflow. Profile settings and report history are stored locally on the computer.

Does it need an API key?

No. The included desktop build uses local OCR and a local, deterministic classifier.

Can the AI make mistakes?

Yes. Scensor AI is an educational prototype and can miss harmful content or flag harmless content. Warnings should support—not replace—human judgment.

Where is profile data stored?

The current complete build stores local profile data under ~/.safety_judge_v13/ on macOS and the equivalent home folder location on supported systems.

Why does macOS say the launcher cannot be verified?

The downloadable script is not notarized through Apple. Follow the Privacy & Security instructions above and approve only the copy downloaded from this site.
